Highlights: Chattanooga trip
OK, here it goes:
Friday
- Supper @ Sticky Fingers
- Had a nice Sierra Nevada Pale Ale — on tap even.
- After supper we went over to Greyfriar’s for coffee.
- Tanzanian Peaberry for me and mocha for Heather.
- I am nearly convinced that George Grant was in front of me in line. I have no idea what he would have been doing in Chattanooga.
Saturday - CG’s Gotcha Day
- First off we took the shuttle to Greyfriar’s
- For breakfast, we had barista eggs and bagels. I don’t think I would want to order a latte right after someone cooked the eggs though. If you’ve never seen anyone make barista eggs, they use the steam wand to, basically, scramble the eggs. They were actually very tasty.
- I had an espresso. Heather had mocha.
- After breakfast, we walked down to the aquarium.
- Just a suggestion, never go to the aquarium on a Saturday. It’s too crowded.
- CG got to “pet” a sturgeon.
- Next, we walked over one of the bridges to the other side of the river.
- Had an OK lunch at Mudpie’s.
- Got doggie treats from Bone Appetite for Shelby and Lucy.
- CG and Mommy rode the carousel.
- Later that afternoon we all had afternoon tea at the English Rose.
- CG enjoyed her first tea.
- CG was itching to go swimming, so we went to Wal-Mart to get some floaties and other swimming items. CG and Mommy swam after we got back to the hotel.
- We got take-out from the hotel’s restaurant for supper.
- After supper we gave CG a copy of Finding Nemo for a Gotcha Day present.
Sunday
- We went to church at Reformed Pres on Lookout Mtn. Excellent sermon and service.
- Ate lunch at Mr. T’s Pizza — no relation to star of the A-Team as far as I know.
- Watched the incline during lunch.
- Wondered about the clientel for a restaurant next door called St. Elmo’s Flamin’ Grill. Hmmm. I hope they serve steaks.
- After lunch we drove around St. Elmo’s.
- Once we arrived back at the hotel, we took some photos in the gardens.
- Then we took a really long nap.
- After that, we had supper at Big River Grille and Brewing Works.
Monday
- Went to Greyfriar’s to get last minute items:
- Monsooned Malabar. Mmmm.
- Greyfriar’s T-Shirt and coffee mug. I’m a dork. But, hey, they were cheap, and I got what appeared to be the last of the old-style logo coffee mugs.
- Right on the heels of ordering the coffee, we then went to Taco Mac for lunch. Wow, this was the best lunch/supper-type restaurant of the whole trip. My friend Robert Illman had mentioned it before, but I guess I just thought that they would only serve Tacos or something. Not the case. In fact Heather and I shared some chicken tenders that had wing sauce on them. I also got a pint of Sweetwater 420. Mmmm sweetwater.
- Next we went to the zoo. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Birmingham Zoo, but I think B’ham might have Chattanooga beat. I can’t say that Chattanooga’s zoo was very impressive.
Well, there you have it. We had a good time anyway.

In case I forget to ask at church, is Gotcha Day in celebration of Ceilidh?s adoption? Whatever the occasion, it sounds (and looks) like ya'll had a wonderful time drinking coffee and beer, among other things!!!

Yep, that's the anniversary of the day we brought Ceilidh home. And, yes, we had a wonderful time! Although Heather and Ceilidh wouldn't join me on the beer.
Mmmm...Sweetwater 420. Nice.
Thanks for posting so many pictures and details.
Yeah, and they had like 10 others on tap, and about 100 bottled. I didn't see Fuller's though...
Mmmm...a 100 others.
